TRADITIONAL LOG HOMES Nearly all of the permanent, long-lasting log homes shared the common characteristics of logs hewn flat on the sides, joined at the corners with a dovetail notch, and chinked between the logs. The pioneers built their homes this way because of the outstanding technical advantages. We believe in those technical advantages-as well as the tremendous aesthetic appeal. These logs are made of 6”x12” timbers. TIMBERWRIGHT LOG HOMES This system features 14” tall logs in various widths (usually 6” or 8”) with a very heavy irregular edge chamfer that mimics the irregular shaped logs of the old log homes or the Hearthstone Bob Timberlake homes. THE BOB TIMBERLAKE LOG HOME COLLECTION These logs average 6”x19”, though they can vary from 6”x12” at the top of the log to 6”x22” at the base of the log. The logs carry the natural contour of the tree top and bottom and are hand-hewn on both sides. TIMBER FRAME HOMES Timber framing is a majestic type of construction that utilizes exacting mortis-and-tenon joinery and massive timbers to form the framework of a building. The beautiful frame is then left exposed on the interior of the home – creating a breathtaking effect of open spaces and craftsmanship rarely seen in this century. TIMBER TRACE/CEDAR/PANEL HOMES Hearthstone Panel Homes are constructed using building materials and methods that render conventional, stud-framed walls obsolete…Our panel homes are inherently strong and quiet.
