Most of the original log homes built in America were constructed of logs hewn flat on the sides, chinked between the logs and joined at the corners with some version of a dovetail joint. Hearthstone believes the hand-hewn dovetail look is the most appealing of all. That is the basic style of a Hearthstone Home.

Any of Hearthstone's plans can be built in the traditional log style (6"x12") or in the Timberwright style, which features logs of 6" to 8" in width by 14" in height, giving your home an extraordinary, authentic look.

The timbers used in Hearthstone's Timberwright homes have very heavy, irregular edges that mimic the irregular shaped logs of the old log homes.
